I’m looking for a new housemate/s
🏡 🌳 🌈
• PLEASE FULLY READ ADVERT •

The room/s are available from 19th September. Looking to meet people from mid August.

My friend and homie is going travelling and leaving “The Lodge” after some memorable times and I’m looking for longterm, like minded person to take over the main room with ensuite and someone to take on the 3rd finished room (can be unfinished). I’d like to lock in the main room housemate before getting the 3rd room leased.

Over my 5 years here I’ve lived with one other housemate and we’ve sublet the spare room 5 months pa reducing our annual rent by 25%pa. Happy to discuss this as an option too. While our home is spacious, the living space is ideal for 2 people. Having a 3rd person for 1-3 months, 2-3 times a year allows us to fully enjoy the house during peak seasons and special occasions - spring/summer time, birthdays, NYE etc. The 3rd room is fully furnished and I usually share the downstairs bathroom with our short term homie too. This would make the room approx $1650 pcm and we’d split the rent of the 3rd person.

MAIN ROOM W ENSUITE_ 🛏️🛀🫧
The room is a very spacious (4.2 x 3.2m), unfurnished, light filled, north facing with a sizeable balcony (est 4.2 x 1.5m) and huge bath/shower ensuite (est. 3 x 3.8) with walk in double built in mirrored robes.

Description of the home

HOME_ 🌴🏡🌳
Our home is a 90s double story 3 bed, 2 bathroom town house in Fitzroy North, Naarm/Melbourne. It’s fully furnished and doesn’t need much (this could change), it’s spacious and comfortable with lots of light and plants throughout. We have 3 communal outdoor spaces (front, central court yard and covered back area/car port to the laneway - good access for bikes) and on street veggie planter. Close to 96, 11 trams, Rushall station, buses - 250, 251 & 504, piedmonte’s, wild things, coles, bakeries, Edinburgh Gardens, bars, pubs, cafes etc. on street parking (2 cars max). Tree lined, fairly quiet street and friendly neighbours. We also have a weekly cleaner who looks after the main shared part of the house too.

NB access: there is one step into the house and one out to the court yard and back area, the main room is up a flight of stairs with handrail. There are currently no handrails in bathrooms.

About occupants
WHO_ 🧜‍♂️🤾‍♂️🧏‍♂️👨🏻‍🦱🥳
You’ll be sharing with me, David (he/him/queer/homo/CODA), I work full time in the CACD performing arts, live a fairly social and active life seeing shows, exercise, friends/family for dinners, drinks and a night out here or there and having people back to the Lodge too. I work from home, Mondays and Fridays. I would prefer to have the place to myself during these times. I’m passionate about politics, art, social justice and fun. I’m a pretty personable housemate and relish my personal time. Luckily the house provides ample space for this as well as break out spaces to socialise. We’ve typically had a household dinner at least every fortnight if not a week or more which I enjoy.
Compatible people
YOU_ 🌈🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏼‍♀️
I’m looking for considerate, progressive, open thinking people who like to socialise, be outgoing and are tidy. Queer peeps are a plus. If you’re looking for a fun, drama free home - we’ll be a match. People with a dark and silly sense of humour, who aren’t afraid to get real, and like to do shit around the house (particularly gardening) are highly encouraged to get in touch.

I value open friendly communication and respect each other’s personal space and time. Friends are welcome to the house as mine will pop in from time to time, for drinks, dinner and the odd gathering.

Communication is the key to happiness.
