An older weatherboard with plenty of character, and well looked after — the oven, dishwasher, ceiling fans and hot water system have all been done recently, so it's an old house that actually works properly.
The room going is the big one at the back, 3.5 x 4.5m, so a queen fits with room to spare. Morning sun and a view over the backyard, which is the best thing about it. It's a bare room with no built-in wardrobe, so bring your own storage and set it up however suits you.
The lounge is a good size and comfortable — a few couches and armchairs, book cabinets, and a 50" TV with a Chromecast, so if you've got a subscription you can throw it up on the big screen. The kitchen has good bench space, and the dining end seats six to eight when there's people over. The bathroom has both a shower and a bath, and the toilet is separate. Laundry is its own room. Internet is fibre, unlimited and genuinely fast.
The backyard is my favourite part of the place. I run a gardening business, so it gets proper attention — there's a pond, a greenhouse, a shed with room to actually use, and fairy lights strung up that make it lovely once the sun goes down. A very friendly neighbourhood cat drops by most days to say hello.
Ten minutes' walk to Huntingdale Station, and the 601 from there runs to Monash Clayton in about seven minutes — handy for the uni or Monash Medical Centre. On the way you'll pass the Huntingdale strip: IGA, chemist, cafés, and a good run of food — Greek, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indian, kebabs, pizza. Eaton Mall in Oakleigh is five minutes' drive, Chadstone about ten. Quiet streets with parks and ovals nearby.
Parking is a spot in the driveway plus room on the nature strip out front.

Nat (she/they) — support worker through the week, and spends her Saturdays on the organising side of parkrun. At home she's usually in the lounge or her room with her iPad, watching something or playing a game. Cooks a few nights a week, is a big fan of anything spicy, and no stranger to a pizza delivery. Dabbles in small art projects here and there. Quiet by nature, but genuinely silly and playful once she's comfortable.
We're housemates who've both lived here over ten years. No chore roster and no drama — we've each got things we're better at, so I look after the house maintenance and the garden, and everyone cleans up after themselves.
It's mostly just us here with the occasional guest, so the place stays quiet. Honestly it feels more like a sanctuary than a sharehouse — an easy place to come home and switch off, with a couple of friendly people around if you want the company.
LGBTQ+ friendly and 420-friendly. We keep the politics and the drama out of it.
