Details
The bedroom is unfurnished and doesn’t have a built-in wardrobe, which actually gives you a lot of flexibility to set it up how you like. Previous flatmates have comfortably fit a double or queen bed along with a desk and either a portable wardrobe or tallboy.

There’s good natural light and it works well as a cosy, personal space you can really make your own. I also keep the third bedroom as a shared home office and extra storage space, so you won’t need to squeeze everything into your room.

Home Description

Description of the home

This is a relaxed, lived-in home that prioritises comfort over perfection. It is mostly furnished, with ducted heating throughout the house and air-conditioning in the living room. There is one shared bathroom plus a separate toilet.

The backyard is spacious and private, with an undercover area that is great for getting some fresh air or winding down. There is also a garage for extra storage and plenty of off-street parking in the front yard.

The location is convenient but still peaceful. Close to walking trails and bus stops, and only a five-minute drive to Huntingdale or Jordanville Station, Chadstone Shopping Centre and Oakleigh. Monash University is also nearby.

About occupants
Hi, I’m Bec (34). I’m friendly, creative, and pretty easy-going, and I really value a calm, respectful home that feels safe and supportive. I enjoy a nice balance between connection and downtime, always happy for a yap, shared meal or cosy TV night, while also genuinely respecting personal space and quiet time.

I love arts and crafts, listening to music, trying new recipes, spending time with my dog, and generally pottering around at home. The house vibe is relaxed and lived-in rather than minimalist, clean and cared for, but not obsessive.

I work flexibly at the moment, so I’m home quite a bit, but I’m mindful of noise and shared spaces. I really value open, kind communication and believe a good home comes from being able to talk things through and be considerate of each other’s needs.
Compatible people
I’m looking for a friendly, considerate flatmate who communicates well and values mutual respect. Ideally we get along and have a friendly dynamic, while also being comfortable doing our own thing.

I appreciate someone who contributes to shared spaces and keeps things tidy without being obsessive. I really value open communication around expectations, ideas or concerns so the home feels comfortable for both of us. If you’re someone who enjoys a calm home, clear communication, and a respectful, easy-going vibe, we’ll likely get along well.
Description of pets
Otis is my 4-year-old rescue dog and very much part of the household. He can be a little anxious with new people at first, but if you give him space and respect his boundaries, he warms up quickly.

He’s playful (a big fan of tug and enthusiastically destroying his toys), but he’s well-behaved around the house. He doesn’t chew anything that isn’t his and never steals food. He spends most of his time indoors but loves sunbaking in the backyard and going for walks to the park.

He does take longer to warm up to other dogs, so unfortunately I can’t accept a flatmate who already has a pet.
