Home Description

Description of the home

Hey there! I'm Bart — I work in tech and work from home & travel a little through the month — and I'm looking for someone relaxed and respectful to share this unique and character-filled space.

The home is a light-filled Art Deco gem with leafy outlooks that feel like you're living up among the trees. Think high ceilings, polished floorboards, generous natural light, and charming period details with modern touches. The shared spaces include a spacious living area, separate dining nook, fully equipped kitchen with gas cooking, and a sunny terrace that’s perfect for your morning coffee or evening wind-down.

You'll be moving into a large mid-sized room, the third room, a spare that comfortably fits a double queen bed, desk, and include large wardrobe storage, and your own bathroom.

There’s plenty of street parking, and public transport is super accessible with Hawksburn Station, multiple tram lines, and buses just a short walk away.

Located right in the heart of Prahran, you’ll be spoiled for choice with amenities: Public Transport: 6-min walk to Prahran Station, tram routes 6, 72, and 78 all nearby Groceries: Woolworths, Coles Local, Prahran Market, and countless specialty stores Eats & Drinks: Greville Street cafés, Chapel Street bars, hidden wine spots, and all-day brunch spots galore. Parks & Gyms: Victoria Gardens, Princes Gardens, F45, Goodlife, and boutique yoga studios all within reach.

This place has great energy, ideal for someone who values a calm and clean home with space to retreat. Looking forward to meeting you — drop me a message if it sounds like a fit! Thanks, Bart

About occupants
Hi, I’m Bart — 45, working in tech as a product and design management consultant. I mostly work from home and have my own dedicated office room, so the shared areas stay peaceful and uncluttered. I’m respectful, clean, and enjoy living in a calm, comfortable space. I’m into hiking, climbing & mountaineering, design, music, the occasional cigar, and I love exploring local cafés and food spots. I’m social in a relaxed way — happy to share a chat or a glass of wine now and then, but also very mindful of personal space and downtime. The home has a friendly, easygoing vibe — ideal for someone independent, tidy, and emotionally mature. If you’re looking for a well-balanced share house with character and good energy, this might be a great fit.
Compatible people
I’m looking for someone who’s easygoing, self-aware and respectful — someone who values a calm, clean home and communicates openly and kindly. Ideally, you’re independent and emotionally mature, tidy in shared spaces without being obsessive, and working in a corporate or professional setting (sorry, no students). You’re comfortable sharing a home where we can chat naturally but also enjoy our own space. No loud parties, passive-aggressive vibes, or drama — just a grown-up, relaxed household built on mutual respect.
Description of pets
Sharing the space is His Lordship Rufus du Floof — a mid-sized, distinguished-looking Vizsla with serious floof credentials. He’s an absolute dude: a DJ by night and a cheese ball, romantic by day. In reality, Rufus is calm, affectionate, and low-shedding. He’s house-trained, doesn’t bark much, and tends to lounge around the sunny spots or chill in my office while I work. He brings a lot of warmth and good energy to the home, so ideally you’re someone who’s comfortable around dogs and can appreciate the occasional tail wag, soulful gaze, or morning cuddles.
