Home Description

Description of the home

Bright and airy 1950s house with multiple well-sized common areas (we have an inside living room and an external 'rumpus room' - great for hosting friends without worrying about disturbing housemates, and with space for a desk/workbench setup for any hobbies or for those who work from home) a separate toilet/bathroom (with good sized bath) and a huge back yard featuring fairy lights, citrus trees, hammock, fire pit area and charcoal BBQ.

5 minute walk to Northland, Murray Rd busses 30 seconds away. 10 minutes to 86 tram. Preston Market and Train station also in walking distance.

Home to a veritable menagerie of exceedingly friendly animals (3 cats and a dog), so a good home for those who like furry friends.

About the occupants
I'm Cat (she/they) a 38yo High School teacher and beer nerd.
I play water polo and am vice president of my club, so that keeps me out and about multiple nights a week. When not in the water I'm typically playing board games with friends, befriending local magpies and baking for hungry water polo players.

I'm a solid introvert/extrovert mix. Happily hang out alone with a book and the dog, or chill out and chat over dinner or a beer.
Compatible people
I really love this house, and have aimed to make it cosy and homely, so someone who is looking for a place to call home, rather than just any old room to lay their head would be amazing. Approachable and friendly, with a willingness to have a chat over a drink or food or have the occasional board game night. I would rather live with someone companionable, but don't plan on being glued at the hip. Time and space to oneself is important. Prefer laid back to neat freak - while I aim to keep the place tidy, it is a space for living in, not a museum.

Given the other occupants, must love animals.
Description of pets
Three cats:
Cricket - slinky black cat who is a bit of a weirdo and easily spooked, but also a total attention hog.
Minikin - chubby ginger and white. Purrs like an absolute machine.
Polly - Tortie. Queen of the house. Likes to come on evening walks with me and my dog.
All cats are super friendly and live for attention, laps and pats.

One dog:
Teddy. A 15 year old JRT x Corgi. Total mumma's boy, spends most of his time asleep or begging for tummy rubs.
