Home Description
Description of the home
Heya!
I’m looking for someone to move into my home in Darlington, ideally April 1st (flexible mid-March – mid-April), on a sub-lease basis long-term (1y+). This has been my little sanctuary for 6 years now, and I’m looking for the right person to help keep it feeling like a home, not just a share house.
The location:
Smack bang in the heart of Darlington. 5 min walk to Redfern Station, 10 mins to Central and Broadway, and 15 mins in basically any direction to Surry Hills, CBD, Glebe, Newtown, or Alexandria. Truly the centre of everything. Most critically, minutes from The Eveleigh Hotel. IYKYK.
The space:
Gorgie 2 bed, 1 bath terrace apartment & backyard with everything you’d need, minus a dryer (character building). Street parking available via permit. Shared bathroom. Fully furnished home, bedroom unfurnished. Bills split evenly and very reasonable - based on usage.
The house itself is extremely clean, calm, and thoughtfully styled. Big house pride situation. Think aesop-smelling, peaceful, beautiful energy. Cleanliness is non-negotiable — this is a serene palace, not a crack den.
The room:
Cozy, peaceful, and cute. Fits a single/double bed comfortably, plus side table, clothing rack or desk, and shelving. Includes built-in robe, window, fan, and objectively sexy lighting.
$350/week
$700 bond

I’m 28 and work in corporate marketing and events. I WFH Mondays and Fridays from the kitchen table, so someone respectful of shared space during those hours is key.
I live a very social life and host people over most weekends - dinners, wines, pres & kick-ons, boogies - the works. For this reason I’d love someone who is comfortable in a social home and keen to get amongst it from time to time, but equally appreciates their own space and downtime. Balance is important.
Non-negotiables:
• Single occupancy
• No couples
• No additional pets
• Extremely clean, respectful, and house-proud
• Ideally 25–35 y/o professional
You’ll also be living with Pingu, my tiny, perfect, slightly codependent cat. He’s more of a cat/dog situation and will be at the ready for some TLC.
