Home Description

Description of the home

The house is a 3-bedroom two-storey terrace built in the 1890s. It has high ceilings and polished floorboards. The backyard is remarkably leafy and we have a lot of birdlife!
<<<>>>> Sunny inner city backyard, a place to dry your clothes in the sun (it makes them smell so good!).
<<<>>>> We share the one shower, and there's a 2nd toilet. The hot water is gas-heated, there is always plenty!
Suit traveller or student on short-term stay. If it's important to you that you have a home, not a hotel, then you'll love our place. I'd prefer someone over 25, or with actual experience living in a share house environment
There is no good place to store a bicycle, sorry.
I work from home most days at the moment.

About occupants
I'm in my 50s. This has been my home since the 1990s. I'm a leadership trainer, coach and facilitator in corporate.
I also make art, so one room is reserved for my making.
I have a busy social life: I improvise comedy/theatre and sing shanties. I'm out most week nights (and I'm home weekend nights some of the time!). I don't cook much, but the kitchen is large and has all the necessary stuff (including a dishwasher).
I speak French and have a Maitrise in Linguistics from Paris.

Jorge is in his 30's. He's a sound engineer and roadie.

Kevin, the cat, is a black domestic short hair. He's a little OCD, and certainly a scaredy cat. He's around 12 years old. He spends a lot of time sleeping, and once you get to know him he'll enlist you as is slave. Fortunately he doesn't snore.
Compatible people
I'm looking for someone over 25. If you're a travelling student or academic then that would be marvellous!
Your qualities will include an ability to socialise, keeping our common areas clean (i really do value a clean stove top after greasy food!). You'll be sensitive to when I'm in a hurry and not hog the bathroom (and I'll do the same for you).
You're independent but happy to hang out and chat. Happy to socialise with you if you want to do that, and you don't have to. You're happy to point out any problems before they become huge ones. You've got an active world and you're not a "victim" - when things happen you don't just complain about them you do something about them.
Description of pets
My cat, Kevin is shy, and a little bit paranoid. He hates a knock at the door, the vacuum cleaner and change. He has a gift for getting out of the way when he's afraid (that's what under my bed is for). He's a black domestic short hair rescued from the Cat Protection Society. He's 12.
