Home Description

Description of the home

Do you want a chill, low key house just a few minutes stroll from the beach without paying the exorbitant Eastern Suburbs prices? Do you want a space shared with awesome housemates in a social setting? Do you want a home rather than just a place to sleep?

We are looking for two housemates to sub-let two of our bedrooms, as Jon and Marco are sadly moving back to Europe. The rooms have some furniture available.

Drop us a message to arrange an inspection and chat!

About the house

The house is beautiful but a bit old, with big shared spaces, such as a well-furnished kitchen and a big living room. There is also a small front garden and a backyard, where anyone is welcome to try out their gardening skills in whatever experiment they desire. Downstairs has 4 bedrooms, a sun room, and a bathroom. Upstairs, there is a shared office space, a second bathroom, and a second lounge area, along with a fifth bedroom. The laundry is outdoors, along with a garage that can be used for bike storage or similar.

The house has a chore rota which changes every week to ensure the place is kept clean.
The price is cheap for the area, with all bills (water, electricity, internet) included in the weekly rent. We consider ourselves lucky to be living here.

The house is on a quiet dead-end street, with plenty of free parking. Bus stops to the CBD and Bondi Junction are 50-100 meters away. Coogee beach is a 10-15 mins walk away (it's great to go for a swim after work!) and UNSW is within walking distance, too. A short walk (albeit up a steep hill) takes you to Royal Randwick shopping centre and the L2 light rail line.

About the occupants
You'll be living mostly with internationals (Chile, Brazil and Australia) in their 30s, all either studying a PhD or working full-time. Laid back, low-key and always up for a chat, we are also understanding at the same time of the need for privacy and down time. It’s not unusual to share a dinner, watch a movie together, or organise a house BBQ on weekends. Our hobbies include swimming, callisthenics, movies, good reads, running, hiking and photography. We’re an accepting, compassionate household where we want everyone to feel comfortable.
Compatible people
We are looking for someone that wants to be part of a home, able to take care of themselves and respectful of others.
