Home Description

Description of the home

Beautiful cottage in Kingston - period charm with modern conveniences.

The available bedroom unfurnished. The rest of the house is furnished (though we can always find room for your favourite chair or bookcase!).

There is a large living room with working fireplace, separate kitchen with dishwasher, modern oven (as well as working Aga - wood fired pizzas are a treat!) and all the important kitchen things.

There's one bathroom with bath and very good shower head; separate toilet. Also a laundry with washer and dryer.

Ducted heating is perfect to get through the Canberra winter and air conditioning for the summer.

Huge backyard is great for lazy garden-parties; there is a deck which turns into my favourite room of the house during summer, fig and apple trees, as well as veggie patches and a garage for any extra storage.

The house is a short stroll to Kingston shops and the foreshore, across the road from a park and easy walking distance to the parliamentary triangle, and close to bus stops.

There's a long driveway and garage for off-street parking and 24h street parking as well.

About the occupants
Originally from Sydney, I moved to Canberra two years ago to work at AGD.

I'm very into cooking, including baking and preserving, crafternoons, gardening, bad tv, good books, brunch, and other hobbies that make me sound either retired or ridiculously hipster (i'm neither i promise).

I look forward to hearing from you and showing you the house!

Anna - Anna (the second housemate) is originally from Melbourne, via Perth and Tasmania and all sorts of other interesting places. She's an excellent cook with an enviable spice rack and a great books that she's always willing to lend.
Compatible people
We are very clean and tidy but not ocd; we're looking for someone we can have friendly chats with, and hang out with wine and bad tv every once in a while but also respect your space and alone-time.
Description of pets
The house comes with a cat - she's lovely and fluffy and has a hashtag: #portthekitteh :)
